IDFG has 78 conservation officers in the whole state. With over 83,000 sq. miles to cover, officers cannot be everywhere at once.

CAP strongly supports the efforts made by conservation officers and to have more eyes helping report crimes, CAP created the 1800 call number for concerned citizens to make the call. Information is then relayed to the conservation officer for the area in which the reported incident occurred.

Preserve Idaho’s hunting and fishing heritage – prevent poaching.

Important Idaho Species Affected

Our conservation officers work hard to protect deer, bear, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, moose, caribou, wild turkey and trophy fish. When you join in to help, you're key to preserving our hunting and fishing heritage.

Idaho's Wildlife Belongs to You

When people commit wildlife crimes, they are stealing directly from you. That's why it's important, when you're enjoying the outdoors, to Make the Call when you suspect anything or anyone that doesn't seem right.
